Job Title: Litigation Docket Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Litigation Docket & Court Services Manager and in accordance with established law firm policies and procedures, the Litigation Docket Coordinator is tasked with maintaining the docket for the Litigation Department using the law firm’s implemented docket software. The coordinator assists in filing pleadings in electronic formats with various courts where the law firm practices and provides various other court-related services. The role requires strict adherence to confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Processing and docketing all assigned court filing deadlines, discovery, and other relevant event dates and reminders for the Litigation Department using the firm’s court rules-based docketing software.
- Reviewing litigation documents for relevant dates and alerting attorneys and paralegals of upcoming deadlines by effectively using the docketing and calendaring system to enter applicable dates.
- Conducting research and retrieving pertinent information on litigants, court cases, dockets, and judge information from all court-related databases, such as PACER, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, DocketBird, CourtLink, and other online court and vendor services.
- Responding to procedural requests and inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding calendared events and deadlines, pleadings, court procedures, and date calculations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Preparing and distributing weekly docket reports with upcoming deadlines to legal teams.
- Working closely with the Litigation Docket & Court Services Manager and other Docketing Team Members to ensure consistency with regard to docketing among all twenty-two offices.
- Performing local, state, and federal electronic court filings for the firm under the direction of the Litigation Docket & Court Services Manager.
- Performing other docketing and court services duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5 years of recent litigation experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have litigation docketing experience using a rules-based docketing software.
- Recent experience in docketing and/or supporting litigation in multiple states, including both Federal districts and State jurisdictions, is required.
- Experience with CompuLaw is desired but not required.
- An understanding and working knowledge of litigation phases from Complaint to Appeal are necessary.
- Working knowledge of legal documents and terminology is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Proficiency in computer skills is required, with preferred skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Imanage, and Adobe.
- The role requires a self-starter who works efficiently as an independent and collaborates well within a team.
- A detail-oriented skill set is necessary, with the ability to prioritize time efficiently while handling multiple tasks under time constraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to communicate effectively with office staff and legal personnel in person, by email, and telephone. This includes accurately following instructions from a diverse group of attorneys and staff and providing information with courtesy and tact.
Salary Information:
Los Angeles Applicant Salary Benchmark: $60-85k
