Job Responsibilities
- Lead large projects and innovate processes to enhance operational excellence.
- Maintain high standards of operational excellence in every assigned task.
- Interact with clients at a senior level to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Perform detailed reviews of state and local tax returns and finalize compliance tasks.
- Coordinate with other departments within the company to prepare, review, and analyze necessary reports for the preparation of the company's tax returns.
- Analyze reports to ensure accurate tax return preparation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to secure overall success in tax-related projects.
- Serve as a strategic advisor by leveraging influence, expertise, and networks to deliver quality results.
- Motivate and coach team members to solve complex problems and enhance team performance.
- Apply sound judgment to determine when to take action and when to escalate issues.
- Model and reinforce professional and technical standards, including adherence to the company's code of conduct and independence requirements.
Education and Experience Information
- A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in relevant fields is necessary.
- A Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Holding a CPA, EA, or membership in the Bar is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in performing state and local tax return reviews is essential.
- Demonstrated capability in monitoring tax compliance requirements and conducting tax research.
- Experience in working with financial statements and journal entries, and understanding financial systems and business processes is necessary.
- Proven ability to coordinate with other departments for tax preparation and to innovate through new and existing technologies.
Salary Information
The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $315,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is specifically listed for roles based in Maryland. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
