This program provides hands-on experience in various divisions of the Court, including Civil, Criminal, and specialized programs such as the Family Law Facilitator's Office and Self-Help Centers. Responsibilities: - Assist with the preparation of legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues - Gain exposure to different areas of law, including Family Law, Civil, and Criminal - Learn how to prepare legal documents and letters of acknowledgement of service - Network with trained paralegals and attorneys - Gain an overview of Court procedures and procedures Prerequisites: In order to be eligible for this internship, interns must have completed a prerequisite course in Civil Litigation and/or Family Law. This ensures that interns have a basic understanding of legal procedures and terminology before beginning their internship. Hourly Requirements: Interns are required to commit to at least one semester and work a minimum of 12 hours per week. This allows interns to gain a significant amount of experience and knowledge during their time at LASC.
