About the Volunteer Programs:
The Court's volunteer programs offer valuable opportunities for practical work experience and skill development while familiarizing participants with court procedures and operations. These programs aim to enhance understanding and appreciation for the judicial system.
Position Description:
The Paralegal Volunteer will gain quality work experience by assisting with the preparation of legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues. This role offers the opportunity to prepare legal documents, network with professionals, and gain an overview of Court processes and procedures.
Placement Areas: Civil Law
Who Should Apply:
- Students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout LA County
- Individuals who have completed a Paralegal certificate program in paralegal schools, colleges, or universities
Note: Most programs allow participation as a volunteer, with no pay or compensation from the Court or a third party (may receive aid or benefits as part of a government program).
What to Expect Next:
If you qualify for the program, you will be placed on an eligibility list for up to 6 months and considered for available opportunities. Please provide a current and accurate email address for communication from the Court. Applicants will be notified of their application status via email by Human Resources staff.
