Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Domestic/Family/Civil Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
- Billing at least 23 hours per week, equating to approximately 1200 hours annually.
- Assisting attorneys in drafting and reviewing legal documents and preparing for court appearances.
- Engaging in client interactions to include case updates and billing management.
- Investigating facts to facilitate the negotiation of legal disputes.
- Participating in the law firm's Perfect Client Lifecycle development program.
- Managing a regular schedule of hearings and court appearances for the attorney team.
- Navigating the discovery process, including drafting, responding, organizing, and administering.
- Regular communication with clients regarding updates to their case.
- Handling all duties and aspects relating to discovery in domestic relations litigation, ensuring full compliance with scheduling orders.
Education and Experience Information:
- Prior experience as a paralegal supporting attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous exposure to family or criminal law is preferred but not required.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver an accurate work product despite outside distractions.
- Organized and reliable, capable of effectively managing time and multitasking competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
- Superior work ethic with a desire to succeed and build a lifelong career in the legal profession.
- Experience with Family Law is considered a plus.
Salary Information:
- The base salary range for this role is between $55,000 and $72,000 annually, commensurate with ability.
- Potential to earn an annual bonus based on performance and contributions to the firm.
- Periodic compensation reviews and subsequent pay raises when deliverables are met.
- Rapid promotability for motivated employees to advance and take on more responsibility.
