Legal Secretary Litigation (Legal Assistant) The candidate will provide secretarial support to two or more attorneys at the firm to help them optimize their time. Format and proofread documents for spelling, grammar and layout. File briefs, pleadings and other legal documents in state, federal and appeal courts whether electronic filing, fax filing or courier filing. Assist with document production. Ensure proper service of pleadings and discovery documents. Transmit legal correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials by electronic filing, mail, fax or messenger. Calendar deadlines, conferences, hearings, depositions, mediations, site inspections, and meetings for attorneys and other support staff. Assist with preparing attorney work binders and trial binders. Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate. Process third party and vendor invoices. Complete administrative forms such as reimbursement requests for attorneys and your employee (personal) timecard. Should have 3+ years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant. litigation experience is a plus.
