Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, monitor active litigation matters, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Drafting and Proofreading: Draft and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Calendaring: Manage attorneys' calendars, appointments, court dates, and meetings efficiently; maintain court docket for practice group; schedule and coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) for plaintiffs.
- Filing: Execute filing procedures, ensuring compliance with legal protocols and deadlines.
- Docket Review: Review State & Federal dockets to identify and pull pertinent filings.
- Medical Records Review: Review medical records and add relevant dates/information to the medical chronology.
- Interrogatories Review: Review Plaintiff's Answers to Interrogatories.
- Discovery Assistance: Assist with discovery, including but not limited to collecting, processing, reviewing, and analyzing paper documents and electronically stored information (ESI).
- File Review: Review files for production and prepare privilege logs.
- Blue Booking: Blue book cases and create Declarations referring to exhibits/citations in Briefs.
- HIPPA Forms: Prepare HIPPA Authorization Forms for Plaintiff's execution and return.
- Medical Records Retrieval: Retrieve medical records from providers and follow-up to ensure receipt of records of HIPPA requests.
- Jury Verdict Searches: Perform Jury Verdict Searches.
- Trial Management: Manage trial logistics, trial preparation, including witness and trial binders, and compile and track trial exhibits.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance coverage and defense litigation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Familiarity and background in capturing billable time for client tasks in billing software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, ability to identify key terms, limits, and premiums.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Thorough working knowledge of and experience working and filing within the Federal and Washington court systems.
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred or relevant years of experience.
Salary Information:
- The annualized salary range for this role may range from $75,000 to $85,000; however, actual salary is contingent upon the level of experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Additional Information:
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
- This is a hybrid position operating 3 days in the Seattle office and 2 days remote.
