Job Title: AVP, Auto/Transportation Commercial Claims

Job Responsibilities:
- Actively manage and oversee assigned team members and Claims professionals handling automobile/transportation claims related to coverage, liability, and damages.
- Provide technical expertise and oversight to Claims Directors & Examiners, particularly in analyzing and handling complex claims and coverage issues.
- Manage the successful identification and retention of top talent within the team, engaging proactively in training and employee development to ensure performance accountabilities are consistently managed.
- Oversee the Trial Committee process, which includes reviewing cases set for trial, assisting in the development of resolution strategies, and overseeing the reporting process to the Home Office.
- Attend mediations and trials of complex cases within the United States as necessary.
- Review and edit timely and appropriate responses to Time Limit/Stowers/Policy Limit Demands.
- Complete liability reserve reviews for automobile/transportation accounts.
- Oversee control activities, including BI Predictive Modeling System, Large Loss Snapshot reviews, reserve reviews, and aging reviews.
- Conduct training sessions on current topics and facilitate partnership calls with internal and external partners to discuss issues of concern with underwriting, actuarial, and Risk Engineering team members.
- Collaborate with other business unit leadership team members to ensure consistency in process and quality claim handling across business units.
- Identify opportunities for loss cost reduction and support strategies aimed at improved financial outcomes.
- Address state and federal regulatory issues such as Medicare issues and state insurance department audits/complaints.
- Work on various claims-related projects as needed.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's degree required; JD is beneficial.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading managers and multiple teams.
- At least 15 years of experience in the insurance industry handling automobile/transportation coverage issues.
- Multi-line experience as a front-line claims adjuster/supervisor and experience in a service/account management role.
- Detailed technical knowledge of automobile/transportation claims handling is essential, with the ability to advise Claims Directors & Examiners on complex injury and property damage cases.
- Experience in analyzing complex coverage issues and drafting coverage disclaimers/Reservation of Rights letters.
- Liability Claims Audit experience is necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Exceptional communication, evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to develop productive working relationships across organizational lines.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to drive and engage in active strategic discussions across stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to make decisions in a team-based environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10-20%.

Salary Information:
- Base salary range of $166,900 - $180,000 per year.
- Position is incentive eligible.
- Total individual compensation, including base salary, short, and long-term incentives, will consider factors such as geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs.
- The pay range may be modified in the future.
