Job Title: Employment Attorney - Advice and Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will join the Labor & Employment group at the law firm, providing advice and counsel on employment law matters to a diverse range of clients. Responsibilities include:
- Advising clients on hiring issues, including pay transparency.
- Guiding on leave laws and reasonable accommodation obligations.
- Managing performance, discipline, and discharge processes.
- Conducting and overseeing workplace investigations.
- Protecting noncompetition, non-solicitation, and trade secrets.
- Responding to administrative charges such as those from EEOC and HRC.
- Developing and reviewing personnel policies.
- Ensuring wage and hour compliance.
- Addressing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation issues.
- Handling multi-state employer concerns.
- Advising on executive compensation, including equity, bonuses, and commissions.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience advising clients on a broad range of employment matters is required.
- Experience representing private sector clients is mandatory, with public sector experience considered a plus.
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking abilities and a personable demeanor, are essential.
- Impeccable drafting skills are required.
- Must be a member of the Washington State Bar Association or be able to obtain membership within a reasonable time frame.
- Candidates should be residents of Washington or planning to relocate to the Seattle area.
- An interest in joining the firm's membership, aligning with the law firm's all-member model, is necessary.
Salary Information:
The law firm offers competitive compensation and a full array of benefits, including family packages. 401K options with Roth and traditional accounts are available, with immediate vesting. As this is a member/partner position, compensation is structured as a set monthly draw with a year-end distribution based on firm profits and personal contributions.
