Job Title: Immigration Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Immigration Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for upholding the highest standards in the practice of immigration law. The key duties include collaborating with immigration attorneys and regional managers, preparing immigrant visa petition packages for attorney review, and managing various immigration inquiries. The paralegal is expected to gather required information and keep clients informed of progress. Additionally, they need to have knowledge of Adjustment of Status case-types and must be proficient in handling VAWA U Visa/Self-Petition cases, DOJ EOIR Applications for Relief, Prosecutorial Discretion Requests, and National Visa Center filings. The role also involves preparing waivers such as I-601, I-212, and I-601a. The paralegal should possess exceptional record-keeping and communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency with computers and various software such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Harmony Legal, Google Suite Tools, and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience as an immigration paralegal. An AILA Paralegal Certification is preferred, but candidates must be willing to obtain it within the first year of employment if they do not already possess it. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is mandatory. The candidate must have experience in using Microsoft Word and should be systems-oriented with a positive and friendly demeanor. Being a team player who is willing to help and grow within the law firm is essential.
Salary Information:
The position offers a pay range of to per hour, with expected working hours being 40 hours per week. The job type is full-time.
