Paralegal, Global Opportunities - Full Time - Los Angeles
Oaktree, a global investment manager specializing in alternative investments, is seeking a Paralegal to join our flagship Global Opportunities department. This is a full-time position based in our Los Angeles office. As a member of this team, you will work closely with investment professionals, corporate legal, tax and accounting departments, and portfolio companies on various matters related to investments made and held by the funds. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced Paralegal to join a collaborative and diverse team within a highly reputable firm.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the investment team and outside counsel to assist with transaction execution, including finalizing documentation and closing transactions
- Reviewing transaction documentation and providing feedback to outside counsel
- Assisting with investment entity structuring and compliance policy integration with portfolio company policies and procedures
- Responding to requests for information on investments held within the funds from regulatory bodies, investors, and other parties
- Collecting documents and responding to "know your customer" requests from Oaktree counterparties
- Assisting with document production for legal proceedings
- Providing backup support for other team members, as needed
- Collaborating on special projects as they arise
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal in the transactional legal industry or with financial institutions
- Experience with closing transactions, M&A deals, loan closings, restructuring deals, and/or private equity
- Strong negotiation, communication, writing, and editing skills
- Careful attention to detail and ability to review documentation thoroughly
- Outstanding analytical and organizational skills

Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal certification or . preferred
