Job Title: Director, Global Lease Administration - Contract (12-24 months)

Job Responsibilities:

The Director, Global Lease Administration - Contract is responsible for managing and optimizing the global lease portfolio to ensure compliance with internal policies and lease terms while supporting strategic real estate initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

- Policy Development: Establish standards and policies related to the type, size, and build-out parameters of spaces to standardize a global approach and control costs.
- Lease Management: Maintain a centralized database of all global leases to support decision-making, ensure accurate record-keeping, timely renewals, and compliance with lease terms.
- Negotiation: Facilitate lease negotiations for renewals, amendments, and new leases, leveraging market research to secure favorable terms and support decision-making through benchmarks on space utilization and market trends.
- Relationship Building: Build relationships and provide support and guidance to the law firm’s Chief Executives, Regional Operating Officers, and the Global Management Committee.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to assess occupancy costs, budget for potential increases, and explore options for financial incentives or concessions from landlords.
- Market Research: Compare current market rates for similar properties, investigate alternative locations, and understand landlord positions and market conditions.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, review zoning laws or building codes changes, and consult with legal and procurement on lease terms, liabilities, and reporting obligations.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for lease management, optimizing space utilization and supporting remote/flexible work trends.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with IT to develop standards for AV and IT equipment in office refurbishments and relocations.
- Employee Amenities: Evaluate amenities that enhance employee satisfaction and productivity, ensuring a healthy and safe workspace.
- ESG Objectives Support: Track and report sustainability metrics, collaborating with the Chief Sustainability Officer to ensure progress related to the firm’s targets (., LEEDs, BREEAM).

Education and Experience:

- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, finance, or related fields.
- Strong experience in lease administration, real estate management, or a related role in a multi-continent environment.
- Proficient negotiation skills and experience in managing complex lease agreements, considering local language requirements during negotiations and review of terms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders, including brokerage firms, as well as individually.
- Excellent project management and budgeting skills.
- Solid experience with local and international real estate regulations and compliance.
- Proficiency in lease management software and tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of law firm structure and environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- A passion for learning new tools and systems (., Real Estate hub, SAP) and data management.
- Keen attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines and ensure project success.
- Ability to make effective, accurate decisions and judgment calls resulting in workplace improvements, profitability, and best practices.
- Positivity and solution-based approach in all aspects of work.

Salary Information:

This position is bonus-eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits based on the number of hours worked. If located in an office in California, Illinois, New York, or Washington DC, the US base compensation for this position is expected to be up to $300,000 annually. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
