Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney
Job Responsibilities
The Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney will be responsible for:
- Analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property insurance coverage.
- Handling general liability, property damage litigation, personal injury defense, and general liability matters.
- Engaging in litigation activities such as taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
- Conducting strong legal research and writing.
The role involves representing insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts across the United States. The attorney will work with primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies.
Education and Experience Information
The ideal candidate should possess:
- At least one (1) to seven (7) years of experience in the relevant legal fields.
- Litigation experience is necessary, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
- Strong research and writing skills are essential.
- Admission to the New York Bar is required.
Salary Information
The position offers a competitive salary with a minimum of USD $135, per year and a maximum of USD $175, per year. Additionally, the law firm provides a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401k plan with employer contribution, and a bonus for those who meet their minimum hourly requirement.
