Job Title: Senior Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Paralegal, also known as the Claim Review Assessor, plays a critical role in supporting the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) by assisting in various aspects of claim review processes. The responsibilities include:

- Pre-screening claims at different stages such as eligibility, compensation, and amendment, which involves deactivating claims, managing amendments, identifying and entering missing information requests, and placing claims on feeds.
- Managing feed requests by compiling presence and compensation feeds and handling special feed requests by the review team.
- Preparing claims by populating claim review worksheets and claim summary templates using data from initial checks.
- Performing administrative checks before peer review or production to a decision maker, in conjunction with the claim reviewer.
- Participating in special projects that focus on claim review and coordination, such as tracking appeals with the hearings team, assisting in the tracking of NIOSH disability evaluation requests, coordinating with NIOSH on private physician verifications, and tracking claims with unique circumstances.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience or a Master’s degree is required. A paralegal certificate is preferred, but relevant experience may be substituted with the approval of the Contracting Officer.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate user or higher), MS Access, and other Microsoft Office suite products is necessary.
- Strong research and auditing skills are essential.
- Experience in claim management or processing environments is preferred.
- Experience in government programs or litigation support is also preferred.
- The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization, which requires US Citizenship at this work location.

Salary Information:
The hiring hourly range for this position is , with the hourly rate determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, along with internal equity and alignment with market data. The position also includes a competitive benefits package.
