The Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney will be a part of the insurance coverage group at the law firm. The primary responsibilities include representing insurance companies in both state and federal courts throughout New England and nationwide. This role involves evaluating claims in partnership with clients and determining the appropriate strategy, which may involve negotiating settlements or providing a vigorous defense through trial. The associate will handle pre-litigation coverage disputes and counsel clients on best practices to avoid exposure to bad faith claims. The role involves dealing with complex coverage issues, including class actions and multi-district litigation.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, coupled with excellent academic credentials. The position requires 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably with knowledge in insurance coverage. While experience in insurance coverage or bad faith claims handling matters is advantageous, bar admissions in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, and/or Rhode Island are considered a plus. The candidate should have an active Massachusetts bar admission or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
