Gravis Law is seeking a self-directed and experienced Estates & Probate Attorney I to join our team. Job Description:
As an Estates & Probate Attorney I, you will have access to coaching and support services for business development and networking. You will also receive a substantial portion of your work through our lead generation and marketing efforts, as well as referrals from other attorneys in the office. However, you will also be expected to generate a portion of your own billable work and attend two events per quarter. In addition, you will have the opportunity to cross-train and grow within our organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting legal research and analyzing complex legal issues
- Drafting legal documents such as memorandums, briefs, and letters
- Marketing your and the firm's services to prospective clients
- Performing discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation
- Communicating and advising clients
- Managing a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficient reach production/collection objectives
- Closing consults within Gravis' range of 30-50%
- Timely approval of invoices
- Ensuring support staff are fully utilized and productive
- Updating client information and invoices accurately and completely
- Sharing work tasks with other attorneys and support staff to meet objectives
- Actively engaging in brand expansion through social media, blogging, and participation in boards and organizations
- Seeking positive reviews and comments from successful client engagements
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice
- 3+ years of experience as an attorney
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
- Excellent legal research skills

Work Environment/Conditions/Physical Demands:
This is a full-time, office-based position. Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and travel overnight on occasion.
Salary Information:
The Attorney I is expected to bill an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices worked while working a full-time employment schedule. This roughly translates to billing 30 hours per week at 50 weeks annually. The salary for this position is $90,000-$100,000 per year.
