Job Title: Account Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Account Manager at the law firm is tasked with managing client account portfolios and will work closely with firm clients, partners, and the finance management team. Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, serving as the primary point of contact for billing and finance-related matters.
- Managing the inventory of a portfolio of high-value clients, ensuring adherence to the financial policies of the law firm and processes of the finance department.
- Understanding billing structures, commercial terms, fee arrangements, client requirements, and the economics of the law firm to advise and support assigned partners.
- Overseeing accurate and timely billing, tracking receivables, and proactively resolving any issues related to prompt payment.
- Using dashboards and reporting tools to analyze client inventory and financial performance, identifying trends and developing recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Anticipating and addressing client concerns or disputes, demonstrating resourcefulness and professionalism in resolving challenges.
- Exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication to articulate complex financial concepts in a clear and professional manner.
- Demonstrating a commitment to client satisfaction and a proactive approach to enhancing the client experience.
- Handling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and composure.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a high volume/dollar, automated, law firm finance role, including billing and collections. Additional qualifications include:
- Knowledge and understanding of financial policies and procedures and the use of both accounting and collections software systems.
- Ability to perform complex financial analysis.
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and function as part of a team.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and handle multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be client service-focused.
- Experience with Aderant or other legal finance software is required.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Salary Information:
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations are also listed. The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors, including the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
- San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $102,000 - $138,000 per year
- Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $91,800 - $124,200 per year
- Salt Lake City and all other locations: $81,600 - $110,400 per year
