Job Title: 2L Summer Associates for 2026 Summer Program
Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the 2L Summer Associates include engaging in a variety of legal tasks under the supervision of experienced attorneys at the law firm. The associates will have the opportunity to work in general summer associate/non-IP positions as well as positions specifically within the Intellectual Property Department, depending on their interests and qualifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting legal research and analysis.
- Drafting legal documents, memos, and briefs.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for client meetings and court proceedings.
- Participating in various legal projects and assignments across different practice areas.
- Collaborating with team members to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
- Engaging in professional development activities to enhance legal skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with clients and colleagues.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the 2L Summer Associate positions must be students in the 2027 graduating class, currently enrolled in law school. Specific requirements include:
- High academic achievement, demonstrating a strong academic record.
- Excellent research and writing abilities, showcasing proficiency in legal writing and analysis.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or employment history, preferably in leadership roles.
- Maturity and the ability to accept responsibility in a professional setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration.
For positions within the Intellectual Property Department, candidates are required to have a technical background suitable for patent positions. This includes having a patent-bar-eligible undergraduate degree.
Salary Information:
The weekly salary range for 2L Summer Associates varies by location and is between $2,200 and $3,500. The salary is competitive and reflects the law firm's commitment to attracting talented and capable law students.
