Job Title: Senior Business Immigration Consultant (Experienced Paralegal)
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform substantive and client-facing work in employment-based immigration matters, surpassing typical paralegal duties in a law firm setting.
- Independently handle tasks related to case preparation and filing of petitions with government agencies, including document gathering, review, analysis, and drafting.
- Oversee case statuses using case management and billing systems, run reports, and assist in case review.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in employment-based immigration, providing guidance to the team.
- Work with clients for case intake, troubleshoot issues, establish case strategies, and recommend solutions and process improvements.
- Generate well-organized written work demonstrating accurate immigration knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate proactively with foreign nationals and client contacts, providing clear and prompt responses regarding case status or inquiries.
- Meet assigned deadlines, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and communicate case progress, status, and escalations to the supervisor.
- Assist in hiring and training new team members and identify ways to improve team productivity and office-wide projects.
- Recognize changes in immigration policy that may impact work and work with leadership to incorporate these changes.
- Be proficient with case management and other reporting tools and technologies used for managing data and information.
- Contribute to team and individual productivity goals.
- Follow documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, regularly seeking opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and standardization in processes, products, or services.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Paralegal certification, or experience in a customer-facing or client service-oriented role.
- At least 5 years of business immigration experience (., paralegal).
- Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes.
- Experience with NIV, IV, PERM, and job change analysis for clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading documents and drafting fluent prose without grammatical mistakes.
- Experience using computer systems, including MS Word and Excel.
- Desire to contribute to a positive work environment, effectively collaborate, and promote teamwork.
