Job Title: Paralegal (Family Litigation)
Job Responsibilities:
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of family law rules of court, including local rules and procedures for filing and lodging documents, as well as adhering to filing deadlines.
- Demonstrate sufficient expertise in family law pleadings necessary for dissolution, paternity, and restraining orders.
- Prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, financial disclosures, settlement agreements, and other correspondence, while ensuring the proper Bates stamping of exhibits.
- Draft declarations, respond to and initiate discovery processes, draft settlement and trial briefs, analyze financial records, and proficiently navigate through local court rules while maintaining awareness of deadlines.
- Engage in significant client contact through in-person meetings, telephone calls, and e-mail communication.
- Manage the intake of new clients, prepare engagement letters, and handle retainers.
- Perform administrative support functions, such as scanning documents, e-mailing documents to clients, maintaining client files, and meeting with clients.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of family law paralegal experience is required.
- Candidates should possess high integrity and demonstrate a hard-working attitude with a mindset of "no task is too small" and "How Can I Help?".
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Experience with iManage, Compulaw, Forms Workflow, Westlaw, and/or other comparable programs is mandatory.
- Candidates should maintain a professional appearance and communicate professionally with clients and co-workers.
Salary Information:
- Anticipated Base Salary: $80, – $100, per year
