Job Title: Litigation Docketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
- The Litigation Docketing Specialist is responsible for scheduling and maintaining electronic calendars for all litigation events, due dates, and obligations for attorneys.
- This role involves reading and interpreting various documents to extract upcoming events and requirements for docketing.
- The specialist will create new events and update existing events in CompuLaw from notifications and requests for docketing, and manually calculate dates as needed.
- Accuracy of data pertaining to the matters managed within the CompuLaw software is critical, as it impacts the firm's litigation practice.
- The role requires interaction with court personnel, attorneys, and staff to obtain and provide data, answer questions, and resolve problems in a professional manner.
- The specialist prepares, processes, and generates routine and special reports for distribution as needed.
- Staying informed on developments and changes in court procedures for various jurisdictions is also a key responsibility.

Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5 years of prior docket experience with a rule-based calendaring system such as CompuLaw, CourtAlert, and/or eDockets is required.
- Experience with federal, state court, and agency rules is necessary.
- Knowledge of the legal process and court operations, including federal, state, and local court administrative rules, is essential.
- The ability to read, understand, and interpret complex documents such as pleadings and other legal documents, including interpretation of court rules related to various litigation practice areas, is required.
- Effective communication skills to interact with diverse individuals and provide information courteously and tactfully in person, over the phone, and in writing are necessary.
- The ability to reason and apply common sense to resolve problems and carry out instructions furnished verbally or in writing is important.
- Proficiency in mathematical functions needed to calculate dates and in the use of MS Office programs is required.
- The ability to work under a high level of mental effort to perform the essential duties of the position, and occasionally work more than 40 hours per week, is expected.
