Job Title: E-Discovery Technology Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

The E-Discovery Technology Project Manager is tasked with overseeing the entire lifecycle of a case within the Information Services Department. The responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with legal teams to develop and maintain strategies for effective data handling from collection to final review and production.
- Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex E-Discovery databases, analyzing data, and employing Early Case Assessment or Advanced Analytics.
- Managing large collections of e-mails, images, and native files, ensuring quality control, and providing application support to both the department and legal teams.
- Training attorneys and paralegals in the use of E-Discovery Technology software and managing document production processes.
- Maintaining expertise in electronic discovery and document handling, with frequent communication with legal teams and vendors.
- Collaborating with department personnel and working independently, maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Managing case activities involving Electronic Discovery, document retention, and data production.
- Developing strategies for efficient discovery and production data handling, building datasets, and tracking case-related activities.
- Advising legal teams on data collection, preservation, processing, and retention, participating in Rule 26(f) discovery planning conferences.
- Overseeing work by Specialists and Analysts, performing hands-on processing when necessary, and maintaining database structures.
- Participating in document production processing, quality control checks, and training users of varied abilities.
- Assisting with trial support, providing advice and best practices, writing clear directions, and testing software.
- Recording daily work time, pursuing additional education, and maintaining confidentiality.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:

- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a senior-level E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support role is required.

Experience:

- A minimum of 5 years of relevant E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support experience is required, preferably within a law firm, though vendor experience is also considered valuable.
- An understanding of the law firm culture and legal team demands is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification is highly desirable.
- A thorough understanding of the EDRM lifecycle, E-Discovery Technology best practices, and hands-on experience with E-Discovery Technology processing software is required.
- Strong experience with kCura Relativity, Nuix, LexisNexis Concordance, LAW PreDiscovery, Thomson Reuters West Case Notebook, Sanction or Trial Director, and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and flexibility of schedule are crucial.
- Experience with advanced technologies such as Early Case Assessment, Advanced Analytics, Predictive Coding, and Concept Clustering is a plus.
- A deep understanding of database searchability, OCR, extracted text, e-mail threading, and imaging technologies is expected.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position varies by location, reflecting factors such as experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market demands, and organizational needs. The estimated salary range is $135,000 to $155,000, applicable to locations such as Atlantic City, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Morristown, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, . Typically, individuals are not hired at the top of this range.
