Paralegal - Discovery Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal - Discovery Specialist at the law firm, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support throughout all phases of litigation, with a particular focus on discovery workflows. The key responsibilities of the role include:

- Providing support throughout all stages of litigation, including document review, production, and depositions.
- Communicating and coordinating with internal Legal Technology teams, vendors, attorneys, and clients regarding document collection, data processing, review, and production of documents.
- Assisting with the preparation of privilege logs.
- Monitoring and tracking all document review activities, providing regular status updates and metrics to case teams.
- Conducting complex searching tasks in various electronic discovery platforms.
- Developing creative solutions to utilize technology for more efficient work processes.
- Assisting with complex tracking and data analysis projects.
- Assisting with the preparation of chronologies and managing supporting documents and facts.
- Preparing for interviews, depositions, hearings, trials, and/or client meetings.
- Utilizing litigation support databases, such as Relativity, to organize, search, and analyze large volumes of electronic data.
- Leveraging litigation support databases to manage case data, perform searches, and generate reports.
- Mentoring junior paralegals to build technical skills related to discovery projects.
- Ensuring case files are maintained within department-approved protocols and case management systems, while seeking to improve workflows regarding the storage and recall of electronic and paper files.
- Maintaining the integrity of client data and properly organizing and managing electronic and paper files.
- Assisting case teams and paralegals across offices.
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for seamless coordination and effective working relationships with others.
- Managing firm resources responsibly.
- Complying with and understanding firm operation, policies, and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
To be considered for the role of Paralegal - Discovery Specialist, candidates must have the following qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a litigation-based paralegal or legal technology-focused role.
- Demonstrated experience working on complex eDiscovery matters.
- Demonstrated project management experience, preferably in the context of eDiscovery.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to fluently navigate various electronic databases and document management systems, with experience in Relativity required.
- Working knowledge of litigation support tools for deposition transcripts and exhibit management, chronology preparation, and deadline tracking.
- Understanding of various litigation support applications and the ability to use technology to provide creative and efficient solutions.
- Knowledge of firm operation, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to assume responsibility for assigned projects and tasks.
- Ability to assume a leadership role on case teams.
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates close attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.

Salary Information:
The starting base salary for the Paralegal - Discovery Specialist position is expected to be within the range of $115,000 to $125,000. The actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant), and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
