Job Title: M&A and Energy Transactional Associate
Job Responsibilities:
The M&A and Energy Transactional Associate will support the Mergers & Acquisitions and Energy Transactional practice at the law firm. The associate will be involved in representing buyers and sellers in various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. The role requires developing a thorough understanding of client objectives and analyzing competitive and regulatory landscapes within specific industries. The associate will work collaboratively with other lawyers in the firm, including those specializing in tax, employee benefits, labor and employment, environmental issues, real estate, securities, and antitrust, to ensure comprehensive deal coverage. The associate will be expected to interact with and advise legal and business teams from the inception of deals through to their closing.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate transactions, preferably gained in a sophisticated national law firm environment. Experience in the energy industry, particularly in areas such as power, renewable energy, oil and gas, is preferred. Familiarity with project finance, infrastructure development, construction contracts, and tax equity transactions is helpful but not required. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, a strong academic record, and excellent writing and drafting skills, particularly in relation to key transaction documents. Admission to the Texas bar is required.
