Job Title: Legal Account Resolution Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

- Requests form letters to consumers or their representatives to notify and encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
- Engages with consumers or their representatives via telephone to determine reasons for overdue payments and attempts to resolve payment issues.
- Calculates payment arrangements and negotiates settlements, which may require approval from a supervisor or client.
- Documents financial status of consumers and status of collection efforts; performs data entry to update account notes.
- Contacts consumers, their representatives, attorneys, and possibly courts to provide status updates and request or supply additional information and documentation.
- Obtains information to process debit and check payments by phone.
- Conducts searches using the internet, public records, city and telephone directories, credit bureau reports, vendor searches, and contacts employers and post offices to locate consumers and/or their assets.
- Makes decisions regarding the next steps for consumer files and monitors for expected outcomes.
- Follows up to ensure all available options are utilized to achieve debt payment.
- Meets minimum standards for daily calls, files worked, and goals.
- Handles files in accordance with company and client standards, follows scripts, and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Approaches contact with consumers and third parties professionally and courteously on recorded and monitored phone lines.
- Completes all required training applicable to the assigned position.
- Performs additional duties as requested or required.

Education and Experience Information:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1-3 years of relevant customer-facing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations, including internet research.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening; THC/Marijuana testing is not conducted in accordance with recent changes to Ohio law.

Salary Information:

- Compensation is per hour, plus uncapped monthly bonus opportunities, with an average annual bonus of $10,000.
- Employees proficient in Spanish may receive additional compensation.
