Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable about case law as it pertains to the type of law practiced by the law firm.
- Prepare cases for USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) and EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review).
- Prepare cases for consulate processing.
- Meet with clients and write notes for various statements, including asylum statements, extreme hardship statements, witness statements, and family court statements.
- Write simple motions, such as adjournments, re-calendar motions, Web-Ex motions, and prosecutorial discretion (PD) motions to terminate/dismiss or administratively close cases.
- Prepare evidence packets for USCIS cases and EOIR cases, including readying materials for any proceedings, such as documents, evidence, and verifying factual information.
- Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
- E-file documents to DHS (Department of Homeland Security), and file to EOIR and USCIS.
- Research and compile information that strengthens a case.
- Communicate with lawyers and clients to keep everyone updated.
- Prepare case briefs/summaries for EOIR and family court dates.
- Enter and scan information and documents into the electronic case management system (Cerenade).
Education and Experience Information:
- Experience in immigration is preferred, with at least 1 year of experience.
- Spanish language proficiency is required.
Salary Information:
- The pay range for this position is to per hour, based on experience.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday.

- The job requires in-person attendance and does not offer remote work.
