Job Title: Patent Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file US patent applications, ensuring all legal requirements and formalities are adhered to efficiently.
- Provide comprehensive legal administrative support for patent prosecution, collaborating closely with attorneys and patent agents to prepare and file necessary prosecution papers.
- Attend to various patent-related formalities, including but not limited to handling Powers of Attorney, responding to pre-examination notices, and preparing papers to make corrections.
- Manage the collection and filing of formal documents such as inventor declarations and assignments, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurately filed.
- Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements, maintaining compliance with legal standards and deadlines.
- Review Patent Term Adjustment determinations, proof patents, and file Certificates of Correction, among other similar activities, to ensure patent accuracy and compliance.
- Handle special projects as needed, which may include managing portfolio transfers and preparing client reports, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to varied tasks.
- Enter billable time accurately, manage docket schedules, and maintain organized file systems to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, providing a foundational level of education relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
- At least one to two years of patent-related experience is preferred, indicating a proven track record in similar responsibilities or environments.
- The candidate must exhibit excellent computer skills, with a strong knowledge of standard office software, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, to perform tasks effectively.
- A keen attention to detail and a disciplined eye for quality checking document accuracy are essential, ensuring all work meets the high standards required in legal documentation and patent processes.

Salary Information:
- The estimated salary range for this role in Glendale, California, is between $63,000 and $122,000. The starting salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, reflecting the level of expertise and suitability for the role.
