Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Revenue Manager-Accounts Receivable and work closely with the Cash Receipts Team to deliver exceptional service. This position involves frequent interactions with department management and staff, necessitating strong written and verbal communication skills. The main responsibilities include:
- Updating the Daily Cash Reconciliation Spreadsheet to ensure accurate recording and balancing of all cash receipts from the previous day.
- Managing the Payments inbox by organizing incoming emails, categorizing them, ensuring each email is addressed, and filing them in the appropriate folders or subfolders.
- Handling the Write-Off inbox by processing all accounts receivable write-offs, GBNF, and E-Billing requests in accordance with Finance department policies and procedures, ensuring each request is filed appropriately.
- Saving receipts, remittances, and emails by storing them in the appropriate folders on the network drive.
- Assisting with processing interim bill applications and offsets, coordinating the process with the billing and Finance teams.
- Updating and emailing the evening Daily Cash Report, starting after 2:30 PM and sending it out by 6:30 PM.
- Providing coverage during the absence of other cash team members.
- Undertaking other responsibilities within the Cash Receipts function as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting or Business. Candidates should have over three years of experience in a large law firm or a comparable industry, with a preference for experience in law firm cash or billing/collections. Familiarity with best practices for cash receipts/applications and billing/collections in a large law firm setting is expected. Additionally, knowledge of Law Firm Financial Software (preferably 3E), MS Excel, Outlook, and Word is required.

- Excellent client service abilities, being enthusiastic and proactive.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a large team while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
- Being detail-oriented, thorough, and results-driven, with the ability to work well under pressure and strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Flexibility and availability to work overtime as needed, particularly from November through December, including evenings and weekends.
- Limited time off requests for November and December, subject to the Manager's discretion.
Salary Information:
The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $60,000 to $75,000. This range represents the law firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range. Actual base compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, location, and the needs of the law firm.
