Job Title: Sr. Data Scientist

Job Responsibilities:

- Lead the data science function for the law firm, including strategy, management, and operations, under the guidance of the Director of Data Science Analytics.
- Develop, maintain, and utilize the law firm's data, data integrations, and data science tools to generate business insights and support project initiatives.
- Build, maintain, and enhance the law firm's information resources, including support for the firm's master data model and data storage infrastructure, to meet current and anticipated needs.
- Coordinate with the firm's Information Governance and Security teams to ensure data validity, use, privacy, and security.
- Collaborate with the firm's technology teams to identify, implement, and maintain relevant technologies and data artifacts such as warehouses and databases.
- Develop predictive/explanatory models, exploratory data applications, and rapid prototypes for various use cases and functions, including matter management, knowledge management, HR, finance/billing, and business development.
- Present results to key stakeholders and turn them into production applications where appropriate.

Education and Experience Information:

- A relevant master's degree in a related field such as computer science or information management is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience applying data science in one or more industries, with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
- Hands-on expertise with data management tools and methods, with fluency in Python, R, and T-SQL.
- Experience with Azure Cognitive Services, AWS, Tableau, Power BI, and Posit Workbench / Posit Connect is a plus.
- Technical experience in conceiving, building, and launching decision support tools is helpful.
- Experience with machine learning and AI, with a reputation as a thought leader in the data science/machine learning/Artificial Intelligence community, is a plus.
- Experience working in the legal profession, with a robust peer and vendor network.

- Strong technical aptitude and understanding, with the ability to quickly learn new applications and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions, including drawing clear conclusions from a diverse collection of data.
- A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and interactions.

Salary Information:

- New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $140k to $195k
- Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Washington, . salary range: $133k to $186k
- Denver salary range: $125k to $174k

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. Compensation varies based on local market data and ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.
