Summary:

TransUnion is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join their team in various locations including Chicago, Illinois, Washington, District of Columbia, Reston, Virginia, Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania, and Boca Raton, Florida. The role requires a . and at least 3 years of relevant privacy experience as a licensed US attorney. The candidate must have expertise in US privacy and data protection laws such as CCPA, COPPA, BIPA, and HIPPA, as well as experience and understanding of marketing and ad tech. The Privacy Counsel will be responsible for maintaining and growing a professional network, drafting privacy notices and policies, and executing a strategic plan to advance and mature the privacy program. This is a hybrid position, with regular virtual and in-person work, and offers a competitive salary range of $100, - $150, annually.

Privacy Counsel Responsibilities:

- Maintain and grow a meaningful professional network
- Draft, update, and regularly review privacy notices, policies, and procedures as necessary
- Review and approve privacy training as necessary
- Execute on strategic plan to advance and continue to mature the privacy program to comply with upcoming US privacy laws and best practices
- Collaborate with various internal functions such as Global Technology, Global Solutions, and Data Acquisition

Qualifications:

Required:

- . and 3+ years of relevant privacy experience as a licensed US attorney
- Expertise in US privacy and data protection laws such as CCPA, COPPA, BIPA, and HIPPA
- Experience and understanding of marketing and ad tech
- Keen understanding of the changing landscape of US privacy laws, regulations, and guidance, including new comprehensive state privacy laws in Colorado and Virginia
- Demonstrable understanding of how privacy laws impact, and are impacted by, technology
- Ability to communicate difficult legal concepts, anticipate potential objections, and persuade senior business leaders to adopt a different point of view
- Ability to foster relationships and become a trusted business partner
- High level of ethics and integrity in professional matters, sensitivity for confidentiality, and respect for individuals
- Detail-oriented with proven organizational skills and analytical ability; Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work well under time pressure under limited to zero oversight

Preferred:

- Experience implementing the intricacies of US privacy laws, particularly in financial services or other highly regulated industry
- International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP or similar certifications

Salary Information:

The . base salary range for this position is $100, - $150, annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations.
