JOB TITLE: US Patent Prosecution Specialist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The . Patent Prosecution Specialist is responsible for performing complex and specialized work by providing administrative support in patent prosecution to assigned clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and electronically filing documents at the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) such as applications, amendments, responses to notices, petitions, information disclosure statements, and issue fees.
- Preparing basic patent documents for client execution and filing at the USPTO, including declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney.
- Forwarding reporting letters to clients regarding USPTO communications and filings.
- Sending reminders to clients about due dates and required instructions.
- Reviewing application papers filed in the USPTO for accuracy and completeness concerning inventors, assignees, and priority data.
- Entering time and billing descriptions for completed tasks when applicable.
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures from both the client and the law firm.
- Supporting the IP Department to ensure client service and satisfaction.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required for the role include:
- Knowledge of current . prosecution and . Patent laws and rules is preferred.
- Familiarity with USPTO online sites and related websites.
- Ability to meet or exceed departmental quality and quantity standards.

EDUCATION:
- Minimum four-year college degree. Related work experience may be used in lieu of formal education.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years of experience in patent prosecution.
