Overview:

- California Supreme Court accepting applications for Supreme Court Attorney position
- Position is for the Civil Central Staff, composed of 16 attorneys
- Staff serves the court in preparing conference memoranda analyzing petitions, writ petitions, and other civil and State Bar of California matters
- Experienced attorney sought to join staff
- Hybrid work schedule with minimum of two days per week in the office

Responsibilities:

- Review, evaluate, and analyze legal documents filed in a case
- Prepare written statements of fact and analyze legal issues raised by parties
- Conduct independent research and draft conference memoranda and orders
- Consult with other attorneys and professional staff
- Conduct special legal research and assignments when requested

Qualifications:

- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- Varies based on level, see Education and Experience section for details
- Work experience as a law clerk to a federal judge after passing a state bar will be considered
- Desirable qualifications include knowledge of legal principles and methods, as well as effective communication and research skills

- Level B: $8,319 - $10,572 per month
