Job Description:
The Senior Counsel will work closely with other members of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Legal Division and senior business leaders to lead and execute significant, complex transactions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, preferably with experience in cross-border transactions. Core responsibilities include actively owning all legal aspects of transactions, identifying and analyzing legal issues, and advising and collaborating with business leaders and legal colleagues to drive positive business outcomes. The Senior Counsel will also be expected to anticipate issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in leading significant, complex mergers and acquisitions
- In-house experience and experience with cross-border transactions preferred
- Active ownership of all legal aspects of transactions
- Identifying and analyzing legal issues and providing practical solutions
- Advising and collaborating with business leaders, legal colleagues, and outside counsel
Training/Experience Required:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Strong academic background and admission to a US state bar in good standing
- Licensure to practice law in Illinois or ability to obtain
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, preferably with large corporate clients
- Experience in a large law firm required, in-house experience at a large corporation preferred
- Proven ability to perform successfully in cross-functional teams and mentor others

Salary Information:
The base pay for this position is $143, – $286,. Salary may vary in specific locations.
Location:
This position is located in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Park, IL, with the possibility of working from the Willis Tower Building in Chicago, IL.
Work Schedule and Travel:
This is a standard full-time position with potential for 10% travel.
