This program provides paralegal interns with the chance to work closely with experienced paralegal mentors and support deputy city attorneys in various teams based on practice areas. The internship also includes trainings and field trips, providing valuable insight into the office and sparking interest in a career in government.

Experience: Enrolled in an ABA approved paralegal program, completed core requirements in Civil litigation and Legal Writing and Research

Salary: Unpaid, but may qualify for class credit

Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with paralegal mentors to provide legal support to deputy city attorneys
- Attend team meetings and meetings with clients and social workers
- Assist with litigation hold processes and document collection and review
- Cite check briefs and attend court hearings
- Draft notices of hearings and other pleadings
- Request investigator services and gather materials for experts
