Job Title: Legal Assistant/Case Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant/Case Manager at the law firm will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the smooth operation of personal injury cases. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can efficiently handle multiple responsibilities. Key duties include:
- Filing documents in State Court throughout California using various attorney service vendors.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. This includes preparing tables of contents and authorities for motions, with shortcut proficiency highly preferred.
- Calendaring hearing dates and managing all deadlines related to motions, oppositions, replies, depositions, and discovery response and propounding due dates.
- Drafting and responding to discovery questions and answers, including proper objections.
- Noticing depositions, scheduling court reporters, and requesting reporter transcripts.
- Making medical records requests, following up on those requests, and summarizing medical records.
- Scanning and uploading all documents into client files.
- Copying and preparing documents for physical filing and pickup.
- Managing case files by sorting, labeling, and organizing the law firm's case files, with a preference for organized and detail-oriented individuals.
- Interacting with clients by responding to calls and emails and providing case updates.
The candidate must be detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills, including the use of proper grammar and spelling.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in personal injury as a legal assistant or paralegal at a personal injury law firm. The role requires initiative, attentiveness, and a willingness to perform tasks properly and efficiently.
