Law Firm Seeking Real Estate Paralegal in Norfolk, VA

Responsibilities:
- Assist with complex commercial real estate, corporate, and lender transactions
- Create checklists, disbursement statements, and closing documents
- Review loan documents and analyze title commitments and documents
- Correspond with various parties to gather necessary information for closings
- Prepare and maintain closing checklists and timelines
- Oversee post-closing matters and preparation of closing binders
- Ensure proper disbursement and recording of closing documents
- Verify receipt of title insurance policies
- Maintain Notary Public status and witness closings
- Enter client data into central database
- Confirm proper lien releases
- Re-record documents and resolve post-closing issues
- Obtain necessary documents from Secretary of State
- Order reports and conduct title searches
- E-file documents as needed
- Process invoices and receipts
- Meet billing requirements and deadlines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficient in SoftPro and Microsoft Office 2016
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Experience with commercial loan closings and title commitments
- Knowledge of closing process and title insurance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Able to work independently
