FAS Team Secretary
Job Responsibilities:
The FAS Team Secretary is responsible for providing administrative, secretarial, and clerical assistance to lawyers and other legal personnel. The key duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordinating foreign and domestic travel arrangements by securing air, hotel, rail, and car reservations for lawyers and clients. Preparing travel expense reports and other business-related expenses using the electronic accounting system and preparing itineraries for lawyers and colleagues.
- Maintaining electronic calendars of meetings and appointments, and apprising lawyers of responsibilities in advance of commitments. Coordinating luncheons and scheduling conference rooms for meetings using electronic room scheduler software.
- Facilitating work with the accounting department to coordinate client bills, generating monthly internal utilization reports, providing monthly and/or quarterly estimate reporting data, analyzing billing data, and responding to miscellaneous client inquiries/requests. Processing new business forms, new client/matter reports, and conflict of interest checks.
- Inputting daily diaries for lawyers in the electronic Time Billing System; proofreading and editing time diaries for accuracy.
- Proofreading and revising all documents, including engagement letters, PowerPoint presentations, memoranda, audit letters, client deliverables, and other correspondence for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and syntax, and drafting correspondence.
- Typing and preparing legal papers and correspondence such as briefs, letters, memoranda, tables, charts/spreadsheets, complaints, and motions. Also generating Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, and redline documents.
- Collaborating with departments across the law firm to complete required tasks within the role utilizing appropriate resources.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- 1 - 3+ years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Preferred:
- Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to type 55 words per minute.
- Experience in a law firm.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and legal document formatting.

Salary Information:
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in the Target Salary Range section. The compensation package also includes bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits program. The target salary range for this position, if located in Washington, ., is $65,000 - $80,000.
