Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in a comprehensive Summer Associate Program designed to provide a realistic experience of working as a full-time associate at the law firm.
- Engage in a variety of client projects and gain exposure to different legal practices within the firm.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to understand the collaborative work environment and firm culture.
- Attend multi-day orientation sessions to meet other summer associates, firm attorneys, and participate in initial legal training.
- Draft memos, agreements, and briefs that will be utilized by clients and judges.
- Attend client meetings, closings, court conferences, depositions, and trials to gain practical legal experience.
- Handle a pro bono project to understand the firm's commitment to community service.
- Participate in legal skills workshops focused on enhancing writing, drafting, contract negotiation, and research skills.
- Receive direct feedback on assignments from assigning attorneys and participate in mid-summer and end-of-program evaluations.
- Engage in ongoing dialogue with an assigned writing advisor, typically a partner, to improve writing skills.
