OATH is seeking a Chief Law Clerk for their Trials Division, responsible for overseeing a team of Law Clerks, Fellows, and interns who provide legal research and writing support to the Administrative Law Judges. The Chief Law Clerk will also contribute to the unit's substantive work by conducting legal research, writing summaries and analyses, and drafting reports and recommendations for review by the Administrative Law Judges. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $93, – $123,.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the work of the legal research unit, including assigning and tracking legal research and writing assignments, setting deadlines, and reviewing the work product for accuracy and clarity.
- Supervise, train, and coach the team of Law Clerks, Fellows, and interns.
- Manage information and resources for the team and the Administrative Law Judges.
- Contribute to the unit's substantive work by conducting legal research and writing draft reports and recommendations and memorandum decisions.
- Act as a liaison among parties, the Calendar Unit, and Administrative Law Judges in Contract Dispute Resolution Board matters.
- Oversee Loft Board case administration and assist judges with notices, decisions, and orders.
- Handle additional special assignments and projects as needed.

Qualifications:
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience, including 18 months of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with administrative proceedings and/or judicial processes.
- Background in administrative law preferred.
- Excellent writing, legal research, and analytical skills.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of legal and court case management software is a plus.

Salary Range:
$93, – $123,
