Job Title: Customs & International Trade Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
As a Customs & International Trade Tax Manager, you will be part of the Customs and Trade Tax team, focusing on providing technology-enabled customs and trade advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing client service accounts and leading engagement workstreams by independently solving and analyzing complex problems to develop top-quality deliverables.
- Supervising, developing, and coaching teams to deliver excellent results and leveraging team strengths to meet client expectations.
- Fostering and maintaining significant client relationships, inspiring and guiding teams through ambiguous scenarios, and promoting digitization and automation for enhanced client impact.
- Maintaining the company's quality standards and supporting the firm's strategic objectives.
- Embracing technology and innovation to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
- Addressing conflicts or issues, engaging in difficult conversations with clients, team members, and other stakeholders, and escalating where appropriate.
- Upholding and reinforcing professional and technical standards, the firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the role of Customs & International Trade Tax Manager, you must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field.
- CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify you for this opportunity.
Preferred qualifications include:
- A Master of Business Administration in Management, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Data Processing/Analytics/Science.
- Admission to the Bar or being a Licensed Customs Broker.
- In-depth knowledge of US Customs and Border Protection procedures.
- Experience in analyzing client internal control practices and evaluating client compliance with import control regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Classification System, customs valuation, and preferential trade agreements.
- Experience in managing resource requirements and project workflow, building and maintaining client relationships, and communicating unique selling points.
- Ability to supervise teams, create an atmosphere of trust, seek diverse views to encourage improvement, coach staff, and provide timely feedback.
- Innovating through new and existing technologies and working with large, complex data sets.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Customs & International Trade Tax Manager position is $98,300 - $266,000, with the potential for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range. Actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. In addition to salary, the company offers a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, holiday pay, vacation, personal and family sick leave, and more.
