Job Title: Patent Docket Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Patent Docket Specialist at the law firm is primarily responsible for coordinating and maintaining all areas of the patent computerized docket system. This includes ensuring that all information related to specific applications, docket due dates, and remarks are accurately entered and managed in the CPI database. The role involves handling incoming domestic and foreign client communications, as well as incoming communications from the Patent and Trademark Office filed in the Patent office. The specialist will also process the delivery of incoming electronic communications in accordance with departmental procedures. Additionally, the Patent Docket Specialist is tasked with providing docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and lawyers. The position requires daily contact with, and guidance from, practice group lawyers and staff.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Patent Docket Specialist position must have at least a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of docketing experience or equivalent knowledge of patent processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, is required. The role demands excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong time-management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment is essential.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Patent Docket Specialist position varies by location. For positions in Century City, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Seattle, the salary range is $64,700 to $103,475. For positions in Chicago, the salary range is $59,300 to $94,850. For positions in Washington, ., the salary range is $62,000 to $99,200. For positions in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, the salary range is $67,400 to $107,825. The base salary will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary offers may be outside of these ranges based on individual circumstances. Additionally, salary may only be a part of the total compensation package, which includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
