Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Attorney at this law firm is expected to handle a variety of defense litigation matters, with a focus on toxic tort cases. The responsibilities include:

- Drafting, preparing, and handling pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
- Drafting and responding to written discovery and dispositive motions.
- Conducting legal research competently and proficiently.
- Preparing and taking depositions of parties and experts.
- Reviewing client documents, drafting case evaluations, and status report correspondence.
- Reviewing, assessing, and handling matters from inception to trial.
- Assisting with and participating in mediations and court appearances.
- Interacting directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff.

The role requires the Associate Attorney to manage a substantial litigation defense caseload and may involve various practice areas. The attorney will work under the direction of a partner and must demonstrate a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have at least five years of defense litigation experience. They must be licensed to practice in New York courts, and additional state admissions, including New Jersey, are preferred. The position requires:

- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to move efficiently from case to case.
- Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and navigating the internet.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Associate Attorney position is between $120, and $145, annually, commensurate with experience for attorneys with five or more years of experience.
