Job Title: Administrative Associate - District Attorney's Office

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal secretarial functions within the District Attorney's Office, focusing on specialized areas such as Traffic, Juvenile, Bad Check Program, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Assault, Child Abuse, Misdemeanor and Felony cases, Subpoenas, and backup for calendaring.
- Type criminal and other complaints, open files, type summons, notices to appear, notices to defense, search and arrest warrants, affidavits, briefs, memorandum of law, motions, agreements, letters, and various other legal documents using a computer.
- Proofread and correct prepared materials for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax, and content.
- Prepare and assemble materials, documents, and exhibits for meetings, court appearances, and hearings.
- Prepare electronic discovery for defense in a timely manner.
- Compose routine correspondence.
- Obtain Department of Transportation Records.
- Enter information into specialized law enforcement databases using knowledge of the legal system.
- Produce subpoenas for all court hearings as necessary and schedule and cancel all witnesses as needed, frequently and with little or no direction.
- Independently obtain schedules of needed Hygiene and Crime Lab Individuals and advise as appropriate.
- Operate standard office equipment such as calculators, duplicating machines, facsimile machines, telephones, scanners, dictation equipment, AV equipment, etc.

Education and Experience Information:
- Associate Degree as Legal Secretary/Paralegal, Administrative Professional, Office Support Specialist, or other related degree.
- Two years of office/clerical experience in the legal field.
- Familiarity with court procedures in a prosecutor's office and with legal terminology.
- Proven skills and proficiency in using computer programs: MS Word, Excel spreadsheets, and the internet.
- Proven track record of being highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet short deadlines with a high volume of output with efficiency and accuracy.
- Ability to type efficiently and accurately.
- Candidates without a related Associate Degree but with several years of related legal secretarial experience may be considered.

Salary Information:
- Starting wage: per hour, with the opportunity to increase to per hour.
