Overview:

The Corporate Counsel will serve as a legal advisor to the corporate and operations teams of the company and its subsidiaries. They will be responsible for reviewing and drafting various contracts, managing disputes, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. This role reports to the General Counsel and requires a strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and draft IT, employment, real estate, and client/vendor contracts
- Work with various departments and outside legal counsel to resolve issues and protect the company's interests
- Negotiate and manage customer contracts, insurance matters, and employee relations
- Advise management on compliance with laws and company policies
- Develop and improve contract templates and handle all contract drafting and negotiation
- Conduct legal research and review the company's litigation strategy
- Handle statutory filings and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Design and implement training initiatives to raise awareness of risk issues and ensure compliance
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the General Counsel

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, including transactional experience with construction related agreements
- Experience with claims and dispute resolution preferred
- In-house experience in the Restoration or Construction industry preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of statutes, rules, and regulations related to construction and mechanic's lien law
- Familiarity with insurance, contract, and employment law
- Strong understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality

- Proven legal and business counseling experience in a corporate environment
- Broad legal knowledge in areas such as corporate law, litigation, and labor law
- Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives
- Financial acumen and business sense

Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment at the company's headquarters. Occasional travel may be required. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners will be used.

The employee may be required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms while performing the duties of this job. They may also need to talk or hear frequently.
