Job Title: Senior Court Attorney JG - 26
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Court Attorney is responsible for researching and analyzing complex legal issues and questions. This role may involve the supervision of attorneys and support staff located in one or more courts throughout a county, judicial district, or department. The position serves in a confidential capacity under the supervision of judges or groups of judges across various courts including the Supreme Court, County Court, Surrogate's Court, the Court of Claims, Family Court, District Court, and both the Criminal and Civil Courts of the City of New York. Specific duties for this assignment include:
- Researching and analyzing legal issues related to Child Custody, Visitation, Guardianship, and Family Offense matters.
- Conducting daily conferences with attorneys and litigants.
- Drafting memoranda and decisions/orders.
- Engaging in routine email communications with attorneys.
- Managing the Court’s case inventory.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have admission to the New York State Bar and two years of relevant legal experience, which may include up to 18 months of pre-admission experience. Experience in Family Law and strong organizational skills are considered advantageous.
Salary Information:
The base salary for the Senior Court Attorney position is $99,490, with an additional location pay of $4,920.
