Job Summary:
Gibson Dunn, a top global law firm, is seeking a Procurement Attorney to join their team in any of their . office locations. This position will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support to the firm's procurement function, including analyzing, drafting, and negotiating agreements with key vendors and third parties. The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and offers the opportunity to work closely with other members of the General Counsel's Office and internal stakeholders throughout the firm.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing legal counsel and support to the procurement function on all aspects of contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance with key vendors and third parties
- Analyzing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of complex commercial agreements with third parties
- Advising on matter-specific vendor retentions and collaborating with other departments to support the procurement process
- Identifying and escalating legal and compliance issues and business risks presented by agreements
- Drafting and updating firm templates for third-party contracts and providing training to ensure consistent contracting standards and processes
- Staying up to date on legal developments relevant to the firm and incorporating relevant laws into agreements and templates
- Reviewing and managing procurement processes and collaborating with other departments to standardize contracting policies and practices
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
- Minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in procurement or contract law
- Strong negotiating and drafting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Methodical approach to work with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with care
Experience:
- Proven track record in negotiating and drafting complex agreements
- Experience providing legal counsel in a corporate setting
- Familiarity with technology solutions, such as cloud-based providers and artificial intelligence
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $150,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations. Benefits include health care, retirement benefits, paid time off, parental leave, life insurance, and performance-based bonuses.
