Job Title: Legal Practice Specialist - Litigation

Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Practice Specialist is responsible for providing a variety of administrative support tasks for assigned attorneys within the Litigation Practice Group. The role requires a solutions-oriented individual with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The Legal Practice Specialist operates under general supervision, adhering to instructions and guidelines to perform essential job functions, which include:

- Understanding court rules and civil procedures in Delaware State and Federal jurisdictions, including electronic filing with File &ServeXpress and PACER/CM/ECF.
- Supporting all aspects of trial preparation, including logistics and trial support as needed.
- Conducting internet research using Lexis and Westlaw, obtaining court dockets from PACER, court/agency websites, or other research tools.
- Assembling binders for court/agency filings, services, and client files, including all necessary attachments.
- Managing the intake process beginning with conflicts check through to the creation of the client/matter number.
- Preparing subpoenas, court scheduling stipulations, motions, and brief templates.
- Editing, proofreading, and redlining documents (agreements, pleadings, spreadsheets, and presentations) and correspondence for accuracy, grammar, and formatting.
- Reviewing and editing prebills; working with the billing practice group to ensure timely client billing; preparing expense reports and submitting vendor invoices for timely payment.
- Organizing and maintaining attorney contacts and calendars, including travel logistics and scheduling flights, hotels, and transportation.
- Inputting, reviewing, editing, and updating attorney time entries.
- Coordinating meeting logistics, including scheduling, arranging videoconferences, conference calls, and conference rooms; requesting equipment and food and beverage orders; preparing presentation materials; and welcoming visitors.
- Answering incoming telephone calls and documenting and relaying messages.
- Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files in accordance with Firm records retention policies.
- Proactively reminding attorneys of impending deadlines and obligations.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least one (1) year of litigation experience.
- Knowledge of Delaware court rules and civil procedures in Delaware State and Federal jurisdictions, including experience with electronic filing in File &ServeXpress and PACER.
- Familiarity with trial procedures, including managing databases, filing in various jurisdictions, and other aspects of trial preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor and presentation.
- Strong client service skills with high-level standards of excellence in work product to meet or exceed client and Firm expectations.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and use good judgment and excellent follow-up skills.
- Ability to maintain and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel as required to attend trials.
