Workers’ Compensation Paralegal
The candidate should have a college degree, licensed paralegal, with 3-5 years experience in handling complex workers’ compensation claims. Should be enthusiastic, highly organized, detail-oriented, people person with solid communication skills, multi-tasking abilities, and excellent computer skills. Proficiency in case management software, preferably Needles; proficiency with office software, including Word Perfect, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Demonstrable proficiency with the NC Industrial Commission Rules as they pertain to filing pleadings, certificates of service, subpoenas, interrogatories, requests for production, depositions, mediations, and hearings is needed. Previous direct responsibility for drafting all claim-related correspondence, pleadings, and NC Industrial Commission Forms, drafting and responding to written discovery requests, and scheduling all aspects of depositions, mediations, and hearings is essential. Should have demonstrable proficiency in document acquisition and management; demonstrably proficiency in analyzing and summarizing medical records; superior time management skills; and last, superior communication skills.
