Law Firm Seeks Experienced Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist I

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Experience: 6+ years of litigation experience in a law firm
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities:

- Format, input, edit, retrieve, copy, scan, and transmit legal documents
- Prepare pleading documents for filing and service
- Prepare discovery documents for service
- eFiling – State, Federal and Appellate Courts
- Create litigation binders, indexing and filing documents, organize and file case documents
- Editing Contracts
- Business Intakes
- Utilize docketing/calendaring department to track court and filing deadlines
- Attorney timesheets, expense summaries, and client bills
- Assists with overflow work and other projects as assigned
- Performs overflow typing, filing, or photocopying as time permits and as requested by other attorneys
- Mailings
- Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
- Type 75+ wpm and have excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Ability to learn new skills and systems quickly
- Perform additional administrative and support tasks as requested

Qualifications and Experience:

- 6+ years of litigation experience in a law firm
- California litigation experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Secretarial Certification a plus; ABA approved Paralegal Certification preferred

Computer/Software Knowledge:

- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies
- Ability to learn new skills and systems quickly

Work Environment:

- Remote/hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation to be in the office on an as needed basis
- Overtime may be required as the job duties demand

Work Schedule:

- Monday-Friday from 6:00 PM-2:30 AM (Central Time)/7:00 PM-3:30 AM (Eastern Time)
