#CB Legal Assistant - Fort Lauderdale, FL Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Department: Defense Litigation Experience: 3+ years Position Type: Full-Time H1: Join Our Team as a Legal Assistant in Fort Lauderdale, FL H2: Work with a Leading Law Firm in Defense Litigation Overview: Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, ., a top national law firm, is currently seeking a skilled Legal Assistant for our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. In this role, you will work closely with attorneys to support them in defending civil litigation matters. We are looking for a hands-on individual with excellent communication and organizational skills who can work collaboratively with both clients and employees of the firm. Responsibilities: • Draft and prepare various legal documents under attorney direction, including responses, reports, filings, pleadings, motions, interrogatories, contracts, opinions, and letters • Manage and track subpoenas and other requests for information • Maintain organized and updated files • Monitor files and escalate any issues requiring attorney involvement • Keep track of trial and discovery deadlines, obtain trial settings, and assist with preparation as needed • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced law firm environment • Familiarity with Florida State and Federal Court filing, including E-Filing • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision • High School Diploma or equivalent Physical Demands: This position is mostly sedentary, but may require occasional standing, walking, and reaching. The employee may also engage in bending, stretching, and lifting up to 20 pounds. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Working Conditions: This job is primarily located in an indoor office environment with varying levels of noise and temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
